Overheard...

This morning after breakfast Oliver volunteered to do my "sises" (dishes) and Sean and I had the pleasure of overhearing the following conversation...

Elliott: (from his bouncy chair, eyes glued to Oliver) jump, jump, smile at Oliver, Squeeeeeal, smile, JUMP, JUUUUMP!!!

Oliver: (serious focus on the dishes) Sorry! Sorry El-yet!

Elliott: flail arms, flail, FLAIL, screeeeeech! JUMP! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!! JUMP, JUMP!

Oliver: (without looking up from his work) Sorry El-yet, I'm doing sises! Sorry. Sorry El-yet, Im doing sises!

So, so cute. (Am I allowed to say this about my own kids?)

And a little sad since I probably say this to Oliver at least once a day.

Aaaaaaand a little bit awesome since he is learning to do my dishes :)

  1. Of course you're allowed to say that about your own kids... especially because it's true! :)

  2. SO SO cute! Of course you can say that about your kids. Love that you are already allowing him to have a sense of responsibility so early and I remember you letting him help with the vaccuuming too. I am guilty of shooing them away and just wanting to get my jobs done as quickly as possible instead of involving them more. Thanks for the reminder and example.

  3. Since we really have nothing to do with our children--they are gifts from God and we are stewards--(I especially like to think that on Naughty Days :-) --I'm all about saying all children are cute, whether they live at our address or not. :-) But yours, actually, are especially adorable!!

  4. I agree with Bethany! If we were not allowed to call our own children cute, then I would be breaking some serious rules too. This is adorable. Emma just started saying "Mommy, I am busy" as she toddles about. Totally made me realize that I tell her that! :( I don't even think she knows what it really means. Hope to see you soon! I will come visit Davis one of these mornings when it's not quite so hot!
