You have so many things to be thankful for...why are you complaining?
Sooo....I skipped Day 4.
And no, I am not going to try and go back and make it up because I really don't know when that would happen and this is supposed to be for fun and that would not be fun :) I love the writing process, but some days I just don't have the time, especially since I am trying extra hard to go to bed earlier. So I am just going to be OK with that and move right along to Day 5- the first Saturday in October, which also happens to be the day of the HUGE Rummage Sale at Oliver's school. I am part of the planning and executing of this event and so this week has been just a little bit crazy ( in a good way, of course :))
***
I see so much when I look at these pictures from this afternoon...
Happy, healthy kids that genuinely enjoy each other's company, the chance to buy bags of really nice, high quality children's clothes for very little money (that I would never be able to afford new) at the rummage sale, Daddy's job that allows us to not only pay our rent and bills but also has wiggle room for unnecessary purchases like a toy guitar and a camouflage suitcase ("for my tools" according to Elliott), a grandma who will come sleep over so that I can participate in a school event (this same grandma rushed up here in Friday night traffic because she really wanted to see Oliver's soccer practice), a wonderful community of parents and staff at our school that makes it a pleasure to work at events like these, beautiful weather (no wind!), children who are developing interests of their own (Oliver has not put that guitar down. Elliott has used his new toy wrench on every imaginable surface of our home...including his sister), a generous neighbor who came to pick me up after the rummage sale so that Grandma could stay home with napping kids, old neighbors who love and miss my kids so much that they wanted to take my boys out to frozen yogurt, Tylenol for my splitting headache, the choice of 3 different kinds of cereal for dinner...
...and another day so jam-packed with activities and people
who love us that we are just too tired to smile for an after dinner picture
(which also equals an early bedtime, wa-hoo!!)
And that was just TODAY!
And that was just TODAY!
I have so many things to be thankful for, why am I complaining?!!
I mean seriously, I get to look at this face all day.
No complaints about that! :)
A choice of three different kinds of cereal for dinner?!!! That IS a special day! I guess the other stuff help make it a great day too. Wish my kids were still small enough to benefit from those amazing rummage sales.
ReplyDeleteOK, cute boy with guitar + cute boy with a camo suitcase + cute girl with a cute hat and a recorder? That could totally be an album cover for a band. I love it!
