Go To Bed/Lay Down, Put Your Head On The Pillow and Close Your Eyes/Let Your Body Go To Sleep!!!!
It is 11:16 pm and I am determined to get a post up before midnight. I can't just give in yet...it's only Day 3! I write better when I don't dwell on a topic too long before writing it and so for this 31 Day Challenge, I am trying to just wait until an opportunity to write comes along and hope that an idea comes along at the same time.
And it just so happens that 11:16 tonight is when that Opportunity to Write has presented itself and after this blustery, filled-to-the-brim kinda day, my eyes are burning and my brain is fried, the Topic has presented itself to me as well: Go To Bed.
Have you ever noticed that the speed of time between 10pm and 12am is at least 3 times as fast as the time between 10am and 12pm?!! I cannot say for sure if this is a scientific fact, but it should be. And actually it doesn't even matter if it cannot be proved scientifically because it is a fact of my life. By the time I get the kids to sleep, clean the kitchen and take care of any necessary tasks (like say hello to my lovely husband), I have approximately 47 seconds to do whatever I want before every part of my body is telling me that it is time for bed.
But do I listen?
No.
The draw to just sit, in one place (a clean and quiet place, I might add), think about One Whole Thought in it's entirety or to concentrate on one task without any one hang on my arms or trying to sit in my lap is just too great. Unfortunately, that "One Task" is rarely productive and usually ends up being browsing around Pinterest- where I spend my Free Time looking at things that I would like to to in my Free Time :) But the truth is, it isn't free time...it comes at a cost to every other area of my life including my health. I've got to get more sleep.
The point is, I complain that I am tired all the time and there is a relatively simple solution and I need to make it a priority.
In fact, I'm gonna start tonight.
Right now.
Goodnight!!

Love your point about the time between 10pm-12am in comparison to the time between 10am-12pm. It's sooo true! Love this post. Thanks for the reminder that I need to go to bed earlier.
ReplyDeleteYes! So true. The evening hours fly by! Am determined to go to bed early tonight - cannot keep my eyes open.
