Waiting Patiently

Sadly (for me), Oliver's nap time has been becoming more of a "quiet time" these days.  Usually he is pretty good about keeping himself quietly busy, but this afternoon, I heard him singing a song that was getting progressively louder, and so I went in to remind him that he needed to be quiet while Elliott was still down and this is what I found:

I thought that the song he was singing was about the fact that he was awake, but actually he was singing about having to wait.

He had been told that he needed to stay in the room (he does his quiet times in Sean and I's room) until 3 o'clock, and so here he is...waiting, waiting, waiting for 3 o'clock.  Tapping his fingers on the nightstand, singing about waiting and watching the numbers on the clock to read "three-zero-zero", just as he has been taught. Oh, buddy, it's gonna be a long 37 minutes :)

Anyone else notice the book on my nightstand?
(It's "The Strong-Willed Child")

Oh how I just love this child!!
