Checking Up on Summer

Oh, hey! I didn't see you there!
I was just getting my daily check up and haircut from my personal care team. Please excuse me while I slip into something more comfortable and get down to the living room floor and I will be glad to tell you more about my life these days...

***

Ahhh....that's better.

Well, where do I begin? I pretty much have a great life.  I spend most hours of the day being carried around by my mom (arms, wrap, front pack...you name it and I get carried in it!) and when she is not holding me, I get to roll around on the floor with my brothers.

At night I get to hang out with my daddy while mommy puts the boys to bed.

There is always someone that I love around to talk with me, sing to me, poke me, grab me, or yank on my limbs.  If I am awake, I am rarely ignored and I actually prefer to be in the midst of "all the excitement" than in a quiet corner of the house.  Even during my naps, my mommy leaves my bedroom door wide open because I seem to sleep better when I can hear that my family is near by.

I am already four months old and I have to say, compared to my brothers, I am the easiest baby.  Don't get me wrong, it is never easy to take care of a baby, but I take it easy on my mom.  She works so hard and seems a little overwhelmed with life and so I just go with the flow, and throw out a smile whenever anyone glances my way.  I tell you, that whole smiling thing really makes people happy so I try to fit one in whenever I can.
You should try it.

 I can be very silly!!

I get called a lot of different names these days like Summy, Summer Girl, Sister, Pumpkin Baby and Button Baby and every possible combination of these names (like Summer Pumpkin, Baby Sister Girl...they go on and on, it will be a wonder if I ever learn my official name!)

This is my Button Baby look. See how round my features are? Mommy loves my face :)

At my four month check up this week (the real one...but don't tell my brothers :)) I was 13lbs 9oz and I am now 2 whole feet tall!  I was glad that my mom finally took me to see the doctor because I was feeling terrible but I had no way to tell my mom.  Dr. K took one look in my ears and said that I had a double ear infection!! Mommy felt like the worst mommy ever because she just thought that I was fussy because of my snotty nose.  She is a really good snuggler and she nursed me and rocked me and bounced me as much as she could, but sometimes a girl just needs her antibiotics!! Thanks to them, I am already feeling much better.

I am still a good nurser but I am not as good as a sleeper as I used to be.  Hopefully now that I am feeling better, I will go back to my once-a-night wakings.  Mommy has high hopes that I will be a much better sleeper than my brothers.  They are both still getting up in the night and crawling into bed with Mommy and Daddy.  Sometimes I am in there too so that makes FIVE people in one bed. (and of course, no one knows how to just sleep in a straight line- they insist on laying diagonally and all over my mom)  I guess that is why sometimes Mommy takes me to the other room to sleep in Oliver's bed.

This is my "faux-ny-tail".  All of my hair has lightened up but it looks as if all the red that was in my hair at birth has just collected in the little bit of longer hair at the nape of my neck.  It probably won't be around much longer so mommy wanted to get a picture of it.

And that pretty much sums up my life these days!  Thanks for checking in!!
