OK...so I am a few days late but here are some pics of my baby boy at 1 week old. So far, he is so different from Oliver- he has a completely different disposition than his older brother and seems to be much more chill. He sleeps ALOT, except at night (but we are working on that) and I actually have to wake him up to eat sometimes....this NEVER happened with Oliver.  He is a good nurser and so far seems to be happy to snuggle 24 hours a day- all things that I like to do too!  Other than that, we don't know much else about him :)  I think that he looks like my little brother when his eyes are open and like Sean when they are closed.  And, in a really cute way, I think he looks like a little baby orangutan- especially after he gets a bath and his hair is really fuzzy :)  Speaking of fuzzy, this little baby is sooo hairy and I LOVE it.  His cheeks and his neck, the back of his arms and all down his back is covered with the most precious little layer of blond hair- oh, it is just so wonderful- you can't help but rub your face all over him, kissing his sweet, sweet face.  Yup, Sean and I are falling in love with this little guy quickly and really enjoying having  a new baby in the house again.  Everything about taking care of Elliott seems to be easier this time around, although getting out of the house and night times are more difficult simply due to the fact that there are two of them and only one of me.
Emotionally, I have found myself feeling more protective of Oliver and the time he gets with me or has my full attention.  Elliott spends more time in his bouncy seat than Oliver ever did but thankfully, he doesn't seem to mind and I get to play with or snuggle Oliver.  So far, Oliver has been nothing but loving towards the baby and he often goes out of his way to give Elliott some loves (lean over on top of him and rub his face on whatever part of Elliott he can reach).  We have had only a few close calls where Oliver may have accidentally been too rough for the little guy but I have a feeling that will not change.  In a few months, Elliott should be hearty enough to roll with the punches and I guess it is all par for the course of the middle child (one of the reasons middle kids are just so easy going :))
So, in a nutshell, I am not getting any sleep but I am very, very happy and totally in love with all three of the men in my life.  The addition of Elliott to our little crew has only made me love Oliver more as I see his gentle spirit emerge from under all his spunk and of course, there is nothing that makes me love Sean more than to see him nurture his children in the way only a daddy can.
Here are some pics of our little lump of love when he was one week old- enjoy!

If he could smile, he would :)

Oops! how did this get in here? This is NOT our son :)

A typical scene from our house these days....see Elliott?

There he is!  Love, love, love!

  1. Man! You are the blogging queen these days!!! I don't know how you do it but I am thoroughly impressed and glad we get to see and hear more from you. Would love to get a snuggle with your little guy one of these days soon.

  2. I never got to kiss that little turtle head when we were at mom's yesterday. I was trying to protect him from whatever Henry had. Turns out he isn't contagious anymore...just an ear infection:( I am ready to hold my new nephew now!!
