Hooray!! This morning Sean came home from his last night of his Paramedic internship!! We weren't sure if he was going to have to go back for another night or even more but his preceptor gave him the green light and said he had completed his training. For anyone who knows what we have been going through, this is such a wonderful and long-awaited achievement for Sean and a step towards realizing his dream of becoming a firefighter. Since the beginning of November, Sean has worked on an ambulance every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday night from 5pm-5am (without pay!) He has truly dedicated himself to the assignment and I couldn't be more proud of him (and glad to have him home again at night). Yay!!!! Now he just needs to file all his paperwork with the school and schedule his board exams and then he will be a real paramedic and qualify for more firefighting jobs. God has really kept us guessing this year and all we really know is that we don't have any idea what our future holds. Hopefully there is a job in that future and I pray that it comes sooner than later... our baby is due in less than a month!

So, I have been a bad blogger this last month and at first it was because there was nothing really to write. Then a bunch of stuff was going on and there was no time to write and so now I am going to give the quick update and promise to be a better keeper-upper in the future :)

Back in the end of March, I had my very first baby shower, thrown for me by my mother in law and her cousin Laura. I was so touched at the amount of time and love they put into this beautiful day for me-especially since most of the ladies attending were from Sean's extended family and don't know me that well. I guess it is a reflection of how much they all love Sean. We had a beautiful afternoon of good food, games and company and it was so much fun to receive gifts for the baby. I haven't really bought many things yet and seeing all the tiny clothes and even the baby lotions and washes really made me realize that this is actually going to happen. It was a lot of fun and very exciting. Here are some pics from the day:

My sister Alice and her youngest daughter...aren't they beautiful? Alice and I...actually me smothering Alice:)
